East End Gallery visits

Hey Folks,

New project was introduced today. The presentation and a separate PDF of the brief is now on myUCA. Remember it is a starting point; where it goes and what it ends up being is up to you.

Below are some some pictures from the other day, feel free to add your own. I want you to be aware of how work is presented in galleries so pay attention to it when you go to future shows.

If you want to explore galleries in the East end more in your own time. The Whitechapel Gallery runs 'First Thursdays' in conjunction with Time Out. Follow this link for more info and to download a map of the galleries in the east end.

By now I'm sure all of you have realised that today has been put on hold due to the beautiful little flakes.

Anyway this is the view from my studio window, I hope you are in yours?

The briefing of the new project will take place next Friday, as will todays scheduled crit. In the mean time read the brief in the handbook for the new SMS project 'Public / Place'.

We will be meeting promptly at 11am in the cafe at the Museum of childhood, Bethnal green.

We wont be spending much time there just meeting. So if you think this museum would be of interest i suggest you get there earlier to have a look around.

We may be using public buses so I suggest that you buy a travel card or bring your oyster card with you.

Just looking at the V & A and came across programme going out this month to do with decorative arts in Britain... this series I believe will focus on wood: appreciate it is not all about modern practioners but the design element should be interesting... Jill
